Hemagglutination Inhibition

Use this key to identify characters in the animation:
Red blood cells
Virus
Antibody

The following animations demonstrate Hemagglutinin Inhibition tests when anti-virus antibody is present (no agglutination) and when it is not (agglutination).

A lack of red cell agglutination means that antibodies bound to virus and inhibited the virus from agglutinating red cells. In other words, a high anti-virus antibody titer can successfully inhibit an agglutinating agent (virus).
