Flow Cytometry Activity
Question 5
How could HIV be directly detected using flow cytometry?
 |
It cannot be detected since it destroys CD4+ T cells. |
|
INCORRECT
HIV infects CD4+ T cells, but does not destroy them immediately. HIV buds from the cell surface. It is an enveloped virus and the envelope comes from the CD4 cell membrane.
